Today was Ari´s first day at ¨school¨, it is this cute, little amazing school for children from 1 to 4 years old, only in the mornings, they come here to start socializing, learning the basics, and I think to give moms a little air!
So here I am, happy as can be, but also trying to soak up every little bit of babyhood without being over sentimental! Today we all woke up early, Ale and Emi had their outfits ready so there wouldn´t be any fuzz today choosing the ¨right one¨for the occasion. I thought I wasn´t nervous until I found myself staring at the closet deciding what to wear... after all, I wanted to make a good first impression for Ari!
Here is our school girl all ready in her brand new uniform and backpack (full of diapers)!
This first time, was the easiest of the three... Ari was thrilled with all the other babies, toys, little chairs, playground, she just dived in and forgot we were there anxiously looking as if Ale, Emi and me were brand new moms ourselves!
So.... first day came and went, and I am left here wishing life would go by just a little slower.... but I guess that is just wishful thinking, so I´ll take pictures, pictures to try to hold life still and keep memories alive!
On the other hand my two other babies, are preparing for school themselves, the only difference is that we sit, listen to music, and we dance to this happy song ¨all about the bass¨like a million times, while we put a little art into their notebooks! I still love the smell of new books and pencils, the look of a brand new backpack and the start of a school year as if I was also 10!
But as much effort as I put into this three lives, and even as I want them to have extraordinary lives, I will not ask them to strive for it. I just want them to appreciate the wonder and greatness in all the ordinary, in our everyday life... in the simplest of pleasures, in a stroll around the block, in a good night kiss, in singing a happy song or a sad one, in loving their pets, in coloring an owl, in baking a cake, in an afternoon picking flowers for mom.... because once they find joy in the ordinary, I am sure they will be extraordinary!
